We want to make sure NES patients have all the resources they need. We also want to increase awareness of Nonepileptic Seizures and their adverse effects on those who have them. And because sexual abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse of children is considered one of the common causes of NES we want to make sure organizations that help child abuse victims are aware of them.

 

Therefore some of our main goals are:

 

  1. The creation and maintenance of a National Database of NES Treatment Providers (currently in beginning stages)

    This will require an extensive amount of inquiries and investigations and will be a full time job. It is probably the most important goal we have. There are other sources of information on the web but seldom sources of people who can specifically treat NES.

  2. Contacting doctors and hospitals and making them aware of NES. Many doctors are not aware of NES and their psychological links. We want to help them understand NES and their causes.

  3. Contacting individuals and organizations dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and making them aware that Nonepileptic Seizures are one the terrible affects of child abuse. Unfortunately many people are not aware of this. To know that child abuse can lead to individuals having seizures we feel will further inspire their efforts to stop abuse.
